It's me again and welcome back! Today I wanted to talk about something that many of us are often asked or even think about from time to time. If you take a moment and just think of someone that you think about very often, a person that you love dearly, and a person who made a lot of memories in your life. Maybe for you it is a family member, a friend, a famous person, or perhaps you have never given it much thought. In my opinion, an influential person is someone that was loving, caring, full of knowledge, or taught you valuable life lessons. For me personally this person is my grandmother. We were extremely close. I was like her daughter and we were inseparable. I wanted to be with her daily. I knew at a young age that we had a special bond. As I sit here today an think about her I can remember many specific details about her. I remember her voice, her scent, and her personality. She taught me the importance of being a lady. Being a lady to her meant to dress appropriately and using manners. When she went to church she always wore her Sunday's best including a lovely hat and small handbag complete with her tissues and hard candy. She always made sure that I had a lovely dress to wear to church especially on Easter Sunday. She knew the Bible and read it from beginning to end more than 50-100 times. I loved her stories, her sophistication, her playful disposition. She was beyond wonderful in my eyes. I now hear her in myself today. When I speak to my children I tell them stories about her. I pass her knowledge and morals on to my children. The skills she taught me are not commonly found in today's society. So, I encourage you to take a moment today and just clear your mind. Think about one or maybe even more than one person that has influenced you to encourage others around you. It will bring a smile to your face and there are so many positive benefits from smiles and laughter.
